Hail does not always leave a hole
Hail can bruise a shingle, loosen granules and expose the asphalt mat without an obvious opening from the driveway. The next rain or the next season is when interior symptoms may appear.
What a professional look includes
Surface bruises, granule displacement, soft spots, metal denting on vents or flashing, and nearby gutters or siding that took the same storm. Photos from the street do not settle it.
